Sheraton Maui Resort announces the promotion of Gerald W. Bahouth to General Manager at the 510-room oceanfront resort. Bahouth brings over 20 years of experience to the Sheraton Maui Resort, including six years as Hotel Manager at the resort, and an extensive background in sales and food & beverage in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Waikiki.
Gerald Bahouth’s very first position at the Sheraton Maui Resort was over 30 years ago at age 14 as the hotel’s nightly cliff diver. Bahouth’s father was the hotel’s resident manager at the time and one evening the scheduled diver took ill.
Hotel officials knew the 14-year old could do the dive as he spent many a day leaping off Black Rock, and asked him to step in for the evening. Bahouth continued the summer as the back up diver and treasures these fond childhood memories of the Sheraton Maui Resort and Black Rock. The Sheraton Maui Resort continues this cliff dive tradition each evening at sunset.
